Spin mapping class groups and 4-manifolds

We explain a recipe to obtain a finite presentation of the even spin mapping class group, inspired by work of Hatcher-Thurston and Wajnryb. Possible applications include the study the signature of spin 4-manifolds, using the horizontal decompositions of Lisca-Parma and the signature function of Endo-Nagami.
